learning even from fales teacher

The teaching of someone we think is a 'false propher' need not necessarily be althogether fales.he may quote from scriputers to convince people of his piety, to appear to be holy. is real 'teaching'in any case will not lie in his words, but in the vibrations of his consciousness. he may urge people to be charitable, for example, but if his voice contains a harsh tone, or if the impression he conveys is of inner tension, his piously expressed sentiments will not have the desired effect. sensitive people will discern behind his most artful concealments a distortion of the truth, even though his arguments superficially seem sound. The errors in teaching can be subtle, even convincing when rationally analysed. it is by the vibrations that a teacher's depth can be sounded. if he is spiritual, a sensitive person will feel, especially in the heart, deep calmness, and upliftment of spirit. if he is spiritually shallow, as fales teachers are likely to be even if they reason will feel in him a certain agitation and unease. The eyes of a true teacher shine; they are always calm. his voice contains an undercurrent of sweetness and joy. his gaint suggests a determined but relaxed spirit; its strength radiates outward from a centre of stillness in the spine. his back is straight, and his posture, upright. The eyes of fales teacher, by contrast.are restless and dull. his voice grates. his gaint suggests inner tension and his posture indicated a mind centred not inward, but on the world around.these signs are to varying degrees evident in a teacher's disciples also. The greatnesws of a master must be judged by his worthy disciples, not by the failures among them. indeed, out of compassion a true master may accept people of unsettled spirituality. The test of the master's greatness, then, is how much those disciples who submit themselves to his influence change for the better.A true master produces saints. His level of spirituality is reflected in everyone in tune with his consciousness. A tree's best fruits are those which receive the most sunlight, not those which cluster desenly together in leafy shade. The light that emanates from the teacher reaches those most clearly who, in their hearts, stand alone before him and 'recive him' with out other influences.indeed, the vibrations of a great master spread into the world like waves, leaving no one in the inner recesses of is consciousness unaffected. waves on the sea subside after a time, unless the water,s surface is repeatedly stimulated by wind-in this case, the wind of divine grace.the surest sign of a true teacgsr lies not in anything he says or does outwardly, but the vibrations he sends out.these vibrations may be subtle, but most people will at least 'feel good' in such a person's presence. there are exeptions, of course. for if a person doesn't resonate sympathetically with gwnuinw spirituality, he may react negatively-evwn feeling anger or hatred. powerful spiritual vibrations make a strong impression. reactions to them tend to be definite and deeplyfelt,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
